On the night of July 19, Russia launched one of the most massive ballistic missile attacks on Kiev since the beginning of the war, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said. According to him, Russian troops launched more than 40 missiles of various types and 120 drones across Ukraine. The Russian military sent most of the missiles to Kyiv. Every day I look at letters from readers in Meduza, and how some of them irritate me! “I feel gloomy satisfaction...”, “I’m glad...” (that something was blown up there, that there is another crisis, and so on). Many people write that “finally everyone else (something) understood.”
Well, of course, no one understands anything, you are the only one, yes, yes, you are the one who understands everything. You sit on the sofa, watch YouTube, read the TV series and understand everything. You especially understand better lonely and poor grandmothers, children who are now growing up, state employees who are being fucked from all sides, families whose apartment has been torn to sh*t (lucky, if only the apartment).
It's not like these people care about peace. It is more important to prove that they are right, that since they are unhappy, let others suffer too. I don’t think it’s possible to build peace with that attitude. You can't build anything on hatred, no matter in which direction it is directed. If you are for peace, then start with yourself! The most important thing we can do for ourselves and our children is to defeat hatred. Everything ends someday, and this war too. We need to remember this, remember that we will have to live with all this, build a common future, talk, argue, make compromises. And to the Ukrainians, and to the toughest pro-zepists, and to the most ardent liberals and democrats.
I believe in the future, but for it to come, we all need a reasonable head on our shoulders, as well as mercy, kindness and the ability to hear each other.
