A court in the Ryazan region placed Elena Morgunova, the wife of actionist-foreign agent Pavel Krisevich, under arrest for 10 days. According to reports from the Freedom Zone and Morgunova’s relatives, the reason is her refusal to unlock the phone, framed as “disobedience to the demands of a police representative.”
Morgunova was detained with her mother while both were traveling on a regular passenger bus in Ryazan Skopin. There was a dog with them.
Entering the cabin, the police announced that they would simply check the documents of the passengers - but they only checked them with Morgunova and her mother. During the passport check, Morgunova was unexpectedly asked if she had been in Paris (Pavel Krisevich left Russia and went to France - Novaya Gazeta). Morgunova answered in the affirmative, and after that both were taken off the bus and taken to the department.
At the police department, FSB officers interrogated Morgunova and demanded that she unlock her phone, allegedly threatening to detain her mother as well, and they threatened to let the dog go outside.
It is reported that Morgunova finally unlocked her phone. After which the mother was released. But the police issued a protocol on disobedience to the security forces, and the court ordered an arrest on this basis.
Morgunova left Russia with Kriesevich in 2025. But she returned to the country to visit her parents.
Krisevich, commenting on the arrest, called it a “form of pressure.”
Pavel Krisevich is known for his political performances. In 2021, a case was opened against him for hooliganism with the use of weapons (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) after an action on Red Square and was sentenced to 5 years in prison. In January 2025, he was released.
On November 29, 2025, Krisevich was detained in Istra and charged with “petty hooliganism.” The actionist was put under arrest for 15 days: he allegedly “swears obscenely.” After the expiration of the term, he was not released and was again arrested for 12 days. During his last arrest, security forces warned him: “Leave, or your loved ones will cry too.”
