Sermon by George Roy about love
Grapes are not potatoes; they will not grow on their own. Cultivating vines is hard daily work. Christ makes this image a symbol of the relationship between God and man. We are a vineyard grown by God. The vineyard, for which He not only spares no effort, but did not even spare His Son. It turns out that the parable about the vineyard, in which they see the story of just retribution, is not about him at all, but about love? Archpriest Georgy Roy reflects on this in a sermon on the YouTube channel of Novaya Gazeta. He reminds us: even shed blood in the Gospel is the foundation not of revenge, but of love.
Father Georgy is a priest from Belarus. He was forced to leave the country due to crackdowns after speaking out against violence in August 2020.
