In the accounts of Rosniyros, the creator of the server and responsible for his technical supportis the same legal entity: a certain company Digital Design LLC . The only “lively” contact of this company and domain rumors.ru, a certain Anatoly E. Danilov is indicated in the Ripn database, aka admin@100mb.com . When entering 100Mb.com , we find out that the server moved to 100Mb.net . After proceeding there, we fall into the possession of a certain hosting company that guarantees its customers the lack of censorship and unlimited traffic, for only 49 cents/MB/month (with a more careful acquaintance with the price list, it turns out that traffic is nevertheless limited ). The payment is accepted as many as three credit cards. If you read deeper , you can find that the same company provides Dialup connection services in Moscow (as an ORC dealer). The site has a list of customers and even complete contact information . The address www.100mb.ru is also mentioned, entering which I remained in some deep bewilderment. There, a certain personal letter of technical content lies on the entrance page, in which neither the sender nor the addressee is indicated ... But the most remarkable thing is that in the “full” contact information there is no both the name of any company and any semblance of the Moscow address - be it legal or physical. Mysticism, and nothing more.
However, do not forget that this server brought us not curiosity about the conditions of hosting per 100 megabit, but the search for traces of the creators of rumours.ru. We found them - in the list of customers, but no new information is contained there for us: only Url and the name of the site. Therefore, we remain with our guesses. And the guess, in essence, is two.
On the one hand, this site can really serve as a kind of "homework" of the organizers of large political provocations - in the image and likeness of the claw, but this time with serious technical preparation. On the other hand, it can be assumed that this site created some political observers in order to drop the information that came to them there, and then publish it with reference to the Internet, maintaining the anonymity of their real sources in power structures. On the third party, given the political engagement of most of our leading media, it is not entirely clear where the line between the political provocation and the desire of the journalist to protect his sources? But this is rather a matter of moral and philosophical, from the consideration of which we will be able to refrain here.
The site rumours.ru in its current form is organized quite stupid and inconvenient. The transition from today's rumors (deployed on the head page ) to yesterday or the day before yesterday is carried out through the calendar archive , even remotely reminiscent of a table of contents. There are no tables in daily releases. Search for the server is completely absent. If you recently saw some rumor on this site, but forgot how much it was published - in general, you will have to rummage all the issues. A simpler and more obvious option (which the creators of the site, perhaps, are counting on) - download all the pages with a teleport or a disco and then look for the necessary information on the local disk. If there is no such opportunity or desire, you can see the rumor rating . This is the only page on the entire site in the genre of hypertext. That is what is interesting. Unfortunately, the rumors collected there are ranked according to the mysterious "three times ten -point" system, there are no dates of publication in the table of contents. On the other hand, openness is achieved by the presence of clear (and binding) laws regulating the disclosure of socially significant information. There is neither one nor the other in Russia. Our political press carefully spares the one who feeds it, and any incriminating evidence on the enemies of its master dumps on the air without even a distant similarity of the actual test. The nationalization of the media can not change anything here, because no large domestic state building in our conditions can claim the role of a guarantor of publicity - in any particular television company, radio stations, a newspaper, nor in the media market on a national scale ... Завершающая новелла сегодняшней заметки посвящена сетевой статистике. Читателю, которому эта тема не интересна, предлагается далее этой фразы не заглядывать.
В предшествующем выпуске Вечернего Интернета, как читатель, возможно, помнит, анонсировалась вторая версия Рекламы.Ру с разнообразными настройками. Исследовав их ассортимент, я не удержался от соблазна порекламировать ВИ с использованием возможностей таргетинга. Нарисовал несколько баннеров и прокрутил их через рекламную сеть. По ее статистике, за один день (пятницу, 22 января) пользователи 935 раз нажали на мои баннеры, переходя на текущую страницу ВИ. И тут меня, естественно, заинтересовал вопрос: как отразятся эти 935 дополнительных визитеров на показаниях различных счетчиков посещаемости текущего выпуска? Результаты экспресс-исследования, проведенного мною по этому поводу, показались достаточно поучительными и достойными внимания всякого, кто пытается оценивать популярность различных российских Интернет-серверов, основываясь на их локальной или сторонней статистике...
Каждый вызов текущей страницы ВИ обсчитывается, по идее, четырьмя независимыми друг от другом счетчиками: локальным , Рамблером Топ100 , Extreme-DM и баннерной крутилкой Рекламы.Ру. Изо дня в день четыре этих источника дают различные показания о числе вызовов страниц ВИ и о числе машин, откуда эти вызовы поступили. Теоретическое объяснение расхождений в статистике разных счетчиков достаточно хорошо известно, однако практика обыкновенно расходится с теорией. Предлагаю вниманию читателей данные статистики Вечернего Интернета за два дня: 21 и 22 января. Ниже будут обсуждены кое-какие практические выводы, которые из этих данных можно сделать.

Первый показатель в предложенной таблице - локальная статистика, которая, очевидно, является наиболее полной, поскольку теоретически в ней учитывается каждый вызов страницы, обслуженный веб-сервером. Однако далеко не за всеми этими вызовами стоят реальные пользователи: заметная часть обслуживаемых запросов приходится на долю всевозможных поисковых и индексирующих роботов, прокси-серверов, либо агентов, работающих в автономном режиме, без участия пользователя. Полный список всех агентов, обращавшихся 22 января к страницам сервера www.cityline.ru , доступен здесь . В нем мы находим отметки о посещении сервера такими программами, как индексаторы Яndex 'а и Рамблера-искалки , ДИСК о Качалка , ArchiText Spider , WiseWire-Spider , EmailWolf , Teleport Pro и даже загадочный Tovek WWW Feeder , о котором даже его собственный разработчик ничего определенного сказать не может... С точки зрения локального счетчика, запросы от всех этих программ являются полноценными вызовами страницы, однако очевидно, что к реальной посещаемости (не говоря уже о популярности) сайта такие обращения к странице не имеют ни малейшего отношения.
Иную статистику дают нам счетчики, оценивающие число вызовов определенного графического элемента на странице. Ни один из индексирующих роботов графику на странице не грузит, то есть запросы от таких роботов графическим счетчиком игнорируются. Teleport Pro, MSIECrawler и прочие однопользовательские "сосалки" могут при определенных условиях загружать и графический элемент, но во-первых, они это делают не всегда, во-вторых - кэшируют то, что уже единожды получено. В-третьих, создатели серверов Интернет-статистики могут вести учет роботов и игнорировать их персонально, по подписи. Такую политику применяет, в частности, Rambler Top100 по отношению к MSIE Crawler . Вот как эта "дискриминация" объясняется в Rambler FAQ :
В последнее время мы обнаружили, что многие современные бродилки (MSIE4 например) имеют встроенный механизм извлечения документов в локальный кеш без участия самого человека. При этом, такой browser работает как робот, извлекая все, что ему попадается (в том числе и наш счетчик) по нескольку раз в день. В поле User-Agent browser ставит значение MSIECrowler, которое говорит о том, что это робот, а не живой человек. Мы перестали засчитывать такие хиты с недавнего времени.
Впрочем, не следует думать, что графический счетчик имеет перед локальным одни только преимущества. Существуют случаи, в которых графический счетчик упускает заход совершенно реального, живого посетителя на страницу. Случается это по самым разнообразным причинам, например:
- Посетитель страницы работает в режиме отключенной графики, или пользуется текстовым WWW-клиентом
- Путь от сервера, на котором лежит графический элемент, до посетителя страницы оказывается слишком долгим. Наступает timeout, картинка счетчика не загружается, визит не засчитывается
- Посетитель страницы может нажать на Stop в процессе ее загрузки, предотвращая показ графических элементов. Если логотип счетчика или баннер при этом на экране не появится, то и вызов страницы не будет засчитан в статистике.
- Rambler Top100 игнорирует два вызова с одного и того же адреса, поступившие с интервалом менее 30 секунд (reload). Это правило уходит корнями в те недавние времена, когда посещаемость страниц участников была достаточно скромной, и заметную погрешность в статистику сайта могла внести "ручная накрутка" (создатель ресурса сидел за своим монитором и тупо жал на Reload). Обязательная 30-секундная задержка была призвана отпугнуть сторонников подобного метода - и, насколько я могу судить, цель была успешно достигнута. Что касается возможной погрешности в связи с существованием такого правила - теоретически она существует и должна со временем возрастать. Речь идет о ситуации, когда многие посетители страницы используют один и тот же прокси-сервер, обслуживающий всех сотрудников некоей организации, всех клиентов одного провайдера, или всех работников какой-либо отрасли (как например, сервер wwwproxy.ac.il , через который заходят на иностранные сайты все израильские студенты и сотрудники академических структур). Насколько реальны потери рамблеровской статистики в этом случае - сказать в высшей степени затруднительно. Конкретные цифры, позволяющие об этом судить, можно поискать в разделе "Уникальные сайты текущего дня" рамблеровской статистики. Желательно при этом брать данные по сайту с высокой суточной посещаемостью .
- Графический элемент, используемый для подсчета посещений, кэшируется и при повторном вызове страницы загружается с локального диска.
Легко заметить, что из пяти названных нами помех первая влияет на обе статистики одинаково. Если у пользователя отключена графика, тогда увы. Вторая помеха, насколько я могу судить, относится к области чистой теории. Рамблер Топ100 обсчитывает в сутки миллионы вызовов от многих сотен тысяч хостов во всем мире, и о существовании некоего статистически достоверного числа сетей, хронически не могущих достучаться до сервера counter.rambler.ru , мне ничего не известно. Третья помеха (нажатие Stop при загрузке) по вышеуказанной причине скорее привела бы к снижению баннерной статистики, чем рамблеровской. Четвертая относится, как уже объяснялось, к области чистой теории. Методом исключения приходим к пятому источнику погрешностей в рамблеровской статистике, и на нем останавливаемся.
Баннер Рекламы.Ру на тех серверах, где установлена ее локальная крутилка, вызывается через SSI с аргументом - случайной цифрой. Цифра эта именно затем и нужна, чтобы при всяком повторном чтении с сервера одного и того же HTML-документа бродилка воспринимала баннерную картинку как новый, незнакомый адрес. С точки зрения клиента, картинки с адресами, скажем, " /cgi-bin/banner/vi?3674235 " и " /cgi-bin/banner/vi?0101010 " не тождественны и не взаимозаменяемы. А картинка Рамблера лежит всегда по одному и тому же адресу, в связи с чем она может браться из кэша (cache).
Исправить эту проблему для Дмитрия Крюкова, создателя Топ100, не составляет ни малейшего труда. Достаточно разрешить вызов скрипта, показывающего счетчик Рамблера, со случайным аргументом после номера участника. То есть вместо действующей команды top100.cnt?60 вызывать ту же картинку с адресаtop100.cnt?60&тра-ля-ля . Где вместо тра-ля-ля подставлялась бы случайная цифра, как при вызове баннера. Сервер Рамблера эту цифру мог бы смело игнорировать. Осмелюсь предположить, что при таком синтаксисе вызова статистика Рамблера в точности совпадала бы с баннерной. По крайней мере, на тех страницах, создатели которых имеют возможность использовать SSI и генерировать скриптом случайные числа. Другой вопрос - как к этому относится сам Крюков. Насколько я помню, правилами Рамблера участникам рейтинга запрещено использовать серверные инструкции, препятствующие кэшированию страницы со счетчиком. В чем смысл запрета - я, честно говоря, не очень понимаю. Но если для создателей Рамблера это ограничение является принципиальным, то остается один способ приводить рамблеровскую статистику к реальным цифрам - накидывать 13% к учтенному количеству хитов...

Сегодняшний выпуск ВИ весит 50284 байта в формате UNIX, не включая dependencies/SSI, и содержит 197 внешних ссылок (ссылки на ресурсы, соответствующие маске www.cityline.ru /*. сюда не относятся, а www.user.cityline.ru /* - относятся; ссылки типа mailto: не учитываются).
