Today, immediately after midnight in Moscow, on Guryanov Street (Southeast District, Pechatniki district), a 4-entrance 9-story residential building exploded. Two entrances completely collapsed, 15 people were killed, and six of them died from a shock wave in a neighboring house, in which all windows and doors were also knocked out. This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, opening a government meeting at 10:20. In total, 115 people were injured, including 12 children.

52 people with damage to varying severity are hospitalized. The victims are sent to hospitals NN 68, 29, 12, 36, 15, the Sklifosovsky Institute and Morozovsky Children's Hospital.

According to Interfax correspondent, rescue work is very difficult to smoke ruins, which firefighters cannot cope with. Every hour, rescuers declare three minutes of silence. A heavy equipment arrived to clear the rubble. According to the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation, about 50 more people can be under the rubble.

In a residential building on Guryanov Street, 642 people were registered, including 202 people in the collapsed entrances.

Russian President Boris Yeltsin expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims and victims as a result of the explosion on Guryanov Street. This was reported to reporters by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Yakushkin.
