On Friday, the Deputy Minister of Atomic Energy, Yevgeny Fedorov, said that the Ministry of Investigation of Russia increases measures to protect the nuclear facilities subordinate to the Ministry, taking into account the growth of the threat of terrorism in the country.
Fedorov noted that the security system of nuclear facilities has always been at a high level. “To protect nuclear power plants, we use the latest technical developments,” the deputy minister emphasized, speaking on Friday on the air of the Echo of Moscow radio station.
According to Fedorov, the external perimeter of nuclear power plants is protected by special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which are equipped with everything necessary.
As the deputy minister noted, even he could not freely go to the Leningrad nuclear station - he had to draw up a pass.
"Today we can guarantee that with the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs we ensure the safety of nuclear power plants by 100%," Fedorov said.
