The fashion designer will leave on the anniversary day
Kenzo graduated from the national fashion school Bunka Gakuen and won the prestigious Japanese Soen Prize. Already upon his arrival in Paris, he assisted at the fashion shows of Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent. And Louis Feraud—at that time dressing national treasure and European blonde #1 Brigitte Bardot—advised him to “definitely submit your magnificent drawings of dresses and costumes” to the Elle competition. Despite the continuity of fashion, he managed to become one of the creators of timeless masterpieces. On October 7, the master will celebrate his 30th anniversary in fashion, and on the same day his farewell fashion show will take place. The Kenzo house will present its latest designer ready-to-wear collection for the spring-summer 2000 season. After this, the position of chief artist of the House of Kenzo will become vacant.
