And now - what does the coming year - the last in the outgoing century and millennium - have in store for us? There will be many conferences, as in the past, and again very diverse. Although most of the leading directions will remain the same.
First of all, these are again hidden problems and names: already at the very beginning of January a conference dedicated to the work of Gaito Gazdanov will be held in Kaliningrad-Konigsberg.

Then, in May, the object of research analysis - this time, by philological theorists - will be Venedikt Erofeev with his immortal novel "Moscow-Petushki", to which representatives of various areas of modern science will try to apply their tools. The venue for this unusual experiment will be Tver University, whose theorists last year won a grant from the Open Society Institute as one of the two best literary departments in provincial Russia (along with colleagues from Novgorod).
