This is the hand that Putin is associated with. And thereby integrates himself into the ranks of other Russian rulers who evoke similar associations. Judging by a recent survey conducted by the Center for Strategic Analysis and Forecast (headed by Dmitry Olshansky), the attitude towards this kind of people is a combination of love and fear. Which, in fact, once again makes us remember the fundamental Russian proverb: “If he hits, it means he loves.”
It is precisely in this sense that there is really no alternative to Putin among other contenders for the presidential post. However, let’s try to imagine (modern historical science welcomes this approach - from “if only”) that Putin’s competitors are not people who have accepted defeat from him in advance, but “iron” guys just like him. Which one would you prefer? Who would you vote for and why?
