Capacitor
Idea and Implementation: Linor Goralik
Literary project-gameWarning
There is absolutely no strength to talk about the end of the century. From the "Magic of Round numbers", used in most undertakings of the last year in a wide variety of fields, blood becomes in veins. Messages about the approach of the end of the world are perceived as a everyday phenomenon and cause a joke in memory about the paratrooper that has finally removed all.
The author of the idea described here decisively declares the complete absence of any connection between the condenser project and a long word to the letter " M ".
I cherished the idea of creating such a game over the past couple of years. The idea took different forms, from especially miserable to unnaturally global, while I was not able to drive it into the framework of the goals, conditions and rules described below. This concept is also pleasant to me by the fact that the game, in addition to entertaining participants, promises to give a very interesting final result, suitable for use by people not involved in the process.
I invite all readers of the Russian magazine to attach a hand to the creation of a collection of short texts "Condenser", which, as an idea, is the final product of the game. The collection will be composed of twelve topics, five texts each, and our task is to create these texts, on the one hand, and select the best of them - on the other. With our efforts, the “condenser” will be a unique section of modern literary genres, influences, copyright claims and ideas - on the one hand, and reader tastes, mod, views and judgments - on the other.
For (almost) twelve months every two weeks I will publish a certain plot. The plot can be described in very detail (up to the characteristics of the heroes and the background of their actions) or very briefly (in one phrase, not even the plot, but a common idea) or somehow, depending on my (purely personal ones - nothing can be done!) Of ideas about the measures necessary for the balance of the collection. All players are invited to write texts to a given plot, and compliance with the rules of the game is an absolutely adamant condition for considering the text within the project. There will be no indulgences and there will be no exceptions (I hope :)), in order to provide all players with absolutely equal chances of leaving their trace in eternity.
Once a week, on some days (say, Mondays or Tuesdays), I will publish the next project of the project. It will include the analysis of the texts received in a week and links to five texts selected by me from the total weekly mass. I promise to make maximum efforts to ensure different genre and taste of these works, as much as the material I received will allow (from time to time I hope to attract some smart people to the process of selecting these texts from the total resulting mass). Absolutely all readers of the Russian magazine and visitors to the project are invited to vote for one and only one of the proposed texts.
As a result of such condensation, we will receive four stories for each given plot - the results of work and voting two weeks. I brazenly reserve the right to include another, fifth, story at my personal discretion, just to abuse official status. These texts will be included in the epoch-making collection " condenser ".
- The player is considered everyone who wants to participate in the game.
- Participation in the game is carried out by sending texts on a given topic or voting on texts provided by other players, or both together.
- Voting on the texts is anonymous. No anti -wound measures will not be taken, I believe that for each of the participants the honor of the player is more expensive than the production of Schuler.
- The texts sent to me must meet only two requirements * :
═
The size is not more than 4000 signs, including gaps. There will be no concessions. All texts in size4001 sign and will no longer be considered when selecting work for voting. The text must be signed. Lee, the pseudonym is at the end-it doesn’t matter, but still the text should be somehow attached to its creator. In addition, there is a request (because as a condition it still cannot exist): during the game, use the principle of "one player - one name." In the end, the analysis of the results will become more interesting from this. I do not make restrictions on the number of texts sent by one author, because it is still impossible to control this. Send, what is it there ... - ═
The other characteristics of the text remain at the discretion of the author. The structure of the game
- The first release of the game will consist of:
═
An introductory note that explains the principles of the game, goals, objectives, rules of participation, the principles of calculating glasses, etc. The first plot of twelve, around which the game will be played. - ═
- Each new release of the game, starting with the second inclusive, will consist of:
═
Accordingly, the plot will be changed every 2 weeks. As a result, a collection of sixty texts will be created: 5 for each of the 24 plots-condenser.
Review of the texts received. Comparison of texts, identifying common features and other adding oil into the fire. Five texts of the week selected by me with the assistance (or without it) of all kinds of advisory persons. If possible, these texts will wear traces of different influences and belong to different schools/styles, as remote from each other as possible. The voting mechanism for choosing the most worthy of five texts, which will be subsequently immortalized in the collection "Capacitor". Messages about the text selected as a result of the voting of the last week and, accordingly, included in the collection; comments, distribution of votes and other accessories. Messages (once every two weeks) about an additional text selected exclusively by my usurpathic will and, accordingly, also included in the collection ... - ═
So the game .
* Absolutely not wanting to engage in legal traction, I will automatically consider sending the text to the author’s permit for publication within the framework of this project. I note that the publication of the text in the condenser does not impose absolutely any restrictions on other publications of the text by the author, as well as gives the project any additional rights to the text.
** The design of the project uses elements of illustrations from the book of Andreas Libavius "Alchemy", 1606.
