"Lady with Camellias"

In the new ballet by choreographer Dmitry Bryantsev, “The Lady of the Camellias,” Natalya Ledovskaya (Marguerite Gautier) spends most of her time in a wheelchair, and her death from consumption is played out evilly and violently, as if parodying the scene of Giselle’s madness. The performance is far from the plot of the novel by Dumas the Son. Margarita's lover is still Arman, but Bryantsev replaced the characters of the demimonde with a strange hero named Bald, who, as it is written in the program, personifies "those who enjoy Margarita."
