France, Great Britain, Germany are countries where the population is taking desperate measures to combat the rise in price of fuel caused by an increase in oil prices in world markets.
German entrepreneurs called on the Government of Germany to take urgent measures to prevent the "gasoline crisis" in Germany. As the Chairman of the German Industry Union Hans-Olaf Henkel said here, the ongoing increase in oil prices will soon force the Germans to follow the example of the French and begin blockade of oil refineries and gas stations, news agencies report.
British farmers and truck drivers, following the example of French colleagues, conduct promotions demanding to reduce diesel fuel tax. In particular, today they were blocked by one of the largest fuel warehouses in the north -west of Great Britain - the gas storage of Shell. It is reported by Radio France International.
The Interfax agency reports that the French farmers removed the blockade of the tunnel through the La-Channel, which was installed yesterday. Nineteen tractors and combines that block the entrances to the terminal, drove away and made it possible to continue moving along the tunnel.
But still more than half of the oil refineries of France remain blocked. In various parts of the country, a total of 65 pickets are exposed, whose participants block large highways and block traffic in cities.
The lack of fuel caused by oil and transport blockade is already beginning to affect the everyday life of the French. Flights between Lyon and Nice were canceled, garbage removal has been stopped in a number of cities, school transport is interrupted with interruptions, long lines are built to the gas stations. Nevertheless, judging by the results of the surveys, most Frenchmen support protests against the growth of oil prices.
Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Loola de Palasio called the continuing fifth day the blockade by French drivers of trucks of oil refineries and oil storages, leading to a widespread lack of fuel in France, unacceptable and compared it with blackmail.
In her opinion, such situations can be repeated, therefore it is necessary to "take immediate measures", as well as provide for more long -term actions, as a result of which the economy of European countries will become less vulnerable.
