On Tuesday, October 31, at the Kinotavr World cinema, a creative meeting took place with the famous French actress Annie Girardot, who starred in such films as “Rocco and His Brothers” by Luchino Visconti, “Les Miserables” by Claude Lelouch, “Thank You, Life” by Bertrand Blier . This is not her first visit to Russia - she has already been to Sochi at Kinotavr, and came to Moscow with the play “Zambezi Falls,” which was staged at the Vakhtangov Theater.

This time, according to the chairman of Kinotavr, Mark Rudinshtein, the arrival of the actress opens a series of meetings of “Stars of World Cinema”. The current meeting was supposed to take place according to a completely standard scenario. First, Annie gives interviews to television journalists, then answers questions from the audience. All this is accompanied by a demonstration of fragments of paintings with her participation and a screening of the film “The Last Kiss” (1977).

At first everything went quite smoothly. To not very correct questions like “Have there been a lot of men in your life?” or “Have you ever died of love?” Girardot found elegant answers: “There’s a lot in cinema,” “Unlike Russia, in France they live from love, not die.” True, some of the liberties that the translator allowed himself were somewhat surprising (he was a little tipsy). So, he translated the word magnifique only as “cool”, he could not translate the title of the film “The Gentle Policeman” at all, and on his own he added that if Annie Girardot lived in Moscow, she would be “a typical Moscow ass.”

However, after the question “How old do you feel?” reached Annie in a somewhat distorted form: “How old are you?”, the actress was seriously offended and indignant. Therefore, the next question from the correspondent of our newspaper, “Which directors and actors did you enjoy working with most?”, which Mark Rudinshtein grabbed with the joy of a drowning man, did not save the situation and generally remained unanswered. Annie Girardot said that she was tired of everything, that before the start of the meeting she had been tormented by journalists for three hours, and that she was leaving to “drink beer.” Confused viewers could only watch “The Last Kiss.” But don't be offended by her. Still, by her own admission, she is already 69.
