The Ministry of Press and Information of Russia today warned the Ministry of Health on the action conducted in November by the management center of the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organization among health workers, NTV reports with reference to Interfax. "The ministry received a letter sent to the regional centers of Jehovah's Witnesses, which contains information on the procedure for holding an action among the medical staff of healthcare organizations," said Mikhail Seslavinsky, first deputy head of the press of the press.
According to the first deputy minister, the purpose of this action is to attract additional supporters to the religious organization "Jehovah's Witnesses". The letter is a detailed instruction on the methods and forms of communicating with medical personnel, their relatives and patients, and the distribution of printed literature between medical schools. The document especially indicates the need for contacts, personal meetings with the chief doctors and the leadership of the clinic. At the same time, distributors should, as noted in the letter, act under the pretext of informing about the news of medicine.
“We are well aware that we are not entitled to intervene in the activities of religious organizations, but we consider it necessary to inform about such a carefully prepared action of the heads of organizations that are supposed to be implemented. It is these leaders that will make the final decision on the possibility of distributing“ Jehovah's Witnesses of the “Witnesses,” Ceslavinsky emphasized.
