Antichrist is a superstar
American shock rocker Marilyn Manson has released his new disc. It's called "Holy Wood (In the shadow of the Walley of Death)". It contains another reference to religious rituals, and Manson himself is depicted on the cover crucified on a cross. The cover has already begun to be banned in the United States.

This album is the first in a trilogy, followed by “Mechanical Animals” in meaning and, as an apotheosis, “Antichrist Superstar” - “Passion for Manson”. The powerful collection of 19 songs meticulously examines the state of American society. And the tour in support of the disc is called God, Gun & Goverment - “God, guns and government.” The author had to grow up a lot since he and his work were held responsible for the shooting of some schoolchildren by others at Columbine (it turned out that the child killers were not even his fans). Nevertheless, he continues his lonely clownery, trying to help the country see his face. Society, as a rule, does not want to know the truth, so respectable ordinary people consider Manson almost the Antichrist. But the singer achieved the main thing. Judging by the concerts in Los Angeles and Berlin, which a Kommersant correspondent attended, Manson managed to return the feeling of the forbidden to rock music. No one has dreamed of this since the days of the young Sex Pistols. At the same time, Manson preaches absolutely fair things that fit perfectly into the code of the builder of communism (or the Ten Commandments - as you like). While hip-rockers Limp Bizkit, who took first place in Billboard, carry only fuck and a charge of unmotivated and all-encompassing aggression every seven words.
On MTV they play “Disposable Teens” with direct quotes from the Beatles’ “White Album” (“You say you want a revolution”), and in “Lamb Of God” they sing about the most innocent murdered Lennon. The song "Cruci-Fiction In Space" offers its own version of evolution: ape-man-gun. The point is that the heroes of his new album, Jesus, John Kennedy and John Lennon, changed our world, but people killed them all in response.
Musically, Manson continues to develop his same old themes, but the arrangements of the musical director of the entire band, Twiggy Ramirez, have become much more mature. Each group has its own "White Album". Now the Antichrist superstar has it.
