In Nizhny Novgorod, a protest of disabled people took place

Today, on the main street of Nizhny Novgorod, a demonstration of disabled people tried to attract the attention of the authorities to their distress.

The main Nizhny Novgorod pedestrian street is a witness to many rallies and manifestations, but posters over a group of people moving in wheelchairs are seen here for the first time. Disabled people today called the "barrier -free environment" today. They decided to clearly demonstrate the leadership of the city and their little neighbors, how difficult it is for a person with disabilities to visit even the most common for all places.

As the first object, a bread store was chosen for the demonstration: high steps at the entrance and the lack of a special ramp for wheelchairs. The participants in the action failed to get to the store even with extraneous help. Soon, attempts to bring disabled people on a high porch stop: strollers can break, and their repair is expensive. Disabled people, as a rule, are low -income people.

In accordance with the new law on the protection of the rights of people with disabilities, special entrances for almost all city buildings should have. In fact, there are ramps only in the Pension Fund, one of the district clinics and an American cafe on the embankment. Moreover, the hostess of the cafe took care of the ramp after the first case when the disabled person could not get into her institution.

Compatriots relate to the problems of people with disabilities more than cool. Participants in the action say that recently one of the disabled people built a ramp in his house with his own money, but the ramp was soon broken by his neighbors - he prevented them from entering the entrance.
