On December 13, Michel Troisgros arrives in Moscow - one of the most famous chefs in France, owner and chef of the family restaurant in Roanne (*** Michelin), the brightest representative of a culinary dynasty that went down in the history of haute cuisine back in 1960, when Troisgros first opened salmon escalopes with sorrel sauce were served. The purpose of the maestro's visit is the opening of the "Idol" restaurant, designed to become the first luxury establishment operating under a franchise system - everything - from kitchen equipment to the names of dishes - will be the same here as in Roan. The Idol restaurant will open its doors to visitors a week after the arrival of Monsieur Troisgros.

The cafe "On the Stairs", which is always full of visitors thanks to its democratic atmosphere, stylish interior and low prices, offers its guests a Lenten Christmas menu. Those observing fasting can have an inexpensive and satisfying snack with Petrovsky vegetable salad (22 rubles) or white cabbage and beet salad (18 rubles), potato soup with sweet peppers (42 rubles), sweet peppers stuffed with rice and vegetables ( 75 rubles), uniquely cheap potato cutlets with mushroom sauce (36 rubles!) or vegetable stew (58 rubles). For dessert, you can order a baked apple with honey and almonds (48 rubles) or fruit jelly (50 rubles). Those who ignore fasting are offered new items from the main menu - spicy Mexican soup "Toro" (58 rubles), mixed meat solyanka (61 rubles) and beef stroganoff with fettuccine (160 rubles).
Starting from December 10, "On the Stairs" will host Sunday children's parties with a special menu. Children's appetizers and main courses are decorated with cucumber crocodiles and other fancy accessories; in addition to numerous desserts, children can order non-alcoholic sweet cocktails: "Batman" or "Little Engineer". For a child's birthday, upon prior reservation, children's theater artists are invited to the cafe for a free show.

"Izuminka" - the younger sister of "Izumi"
A new sushi bar has opened in the building of the Satire Theater on Triumphal Square - a branch of the Japanese restaurant "Izumi". The interior of the new two-tier bar with 20-25 tables echoes the corporate style of the “older comrade” - the same elegant minimalism, original pale green, light green colors, golden bamboo. But the prices of “Izuminka” are strikingly different from “Izumi” and can be a real competitor to the famous “Yakitoria” establishments. Sushi here costs from 48 to 70 rubles, rolls - from 58 to 150 rubles. A little more expensive and sashimi. In addition, Izuminka offers a large selection of dumplings - with shrimp, tuna, beef, chicken, pork - eight types in total. Any type of dumplings (eight pieces) is priced at 210 rubles. Any type of noodles - with soy, chicken or meat broth - from 80 to 120 rubles. And any of the desserts - be it the signature Izuminka cake, poppy seed cake or traditional Japanese sweets - will cost 34 rubles. Domestic draft beer costs 40 rubles. for a half-liter mug. But the bar also offers more expensive Japanese beer, sake and plum wine.

"Stove benches" turned into a restaurant
“Pechki-shops” decided to change their style and turn from a tavern into a restaurant. In the evenings, candles are lit here and a folk ensemble performs. Guests are presented with a menu in the form of a colored children's folding book with three-dimensional pictures. A non-smoking room has appeared, which is still a rarity in Moscow. The everyday price of a buffet is 140 rubles. for one approach, and cutlery is given to clients upon request, regardless of whether they paid for their approach to the “buffet” or wanted to steal a piece of jellied meat from a friend. Among the a la carte new items on the menu are country fish soup (80 rubles), pork baked with tomatoes and cheese, trout with garlic sauce, rabbit stewed in sour cream (200-250 rubles). And grilled dishes are now served to guests not by waiters, but by grillers dressed as devils.
