The main topic this week, and not for the first time, was the difficult fate of one citizen guilty of major thefts. But we don’t have a crime chronicle here, that’s why not a word about the topic of the week. Just advice to citizens: if you cheat, cheat big. Because the plight of citizens guilty of petty theft (and several hundred of them are imprisoned in a week, and this is only in Russia, but think what will happen if you add, for example, Spain) is not written in any newspaper. Although no, in one they write , but the honor is small. Well, if it’s on a big scale, you can see for yourself what happens. Let's finish with criminals and move on to the news.
News of the week
The main network news, perhaps, is that the Internet is now like a glass. Or, if someone is closer, a diamond. Because he got "Fringes" .
Actually, the announcement that Grani.Ru will open before the end of the millennium, coupled with abundant quotes from the classics, was already hanging out last week. Around the sign, smiling wickedly, there were rumors about Berezovsky's money. And so, the editors kept their promise. There are "edges". Rumors fled in panic, because in the lower left corner in large letters it was written: “I decided to finance Grani.Ru because we were again on the brink. Boris Berezovsky . ” It's a joke. Here you need to smile politely.
Actually, there’s not much to talk about the content yet, because there’s not enough of it. We won’t rewrite the press release; the press release promises to build a civil society, but who promises anything else today? It will be interesting to see what they are going to build from. Let's take a look at the editorial office.
Editor-in-Chief - Vladimir Korsunsky. A man known to Internet readers from the old Vesti , especially from the article “They have sailed,” in which he reported on the real reasons for the death of the Kursk. The real reasons for the death of the Kursk were that the elected president did not know how to swim under water and, in general, it was necessary to vote for an economist (those who are not too lazy to follow the link will see that I am not exaggerating too much). In fact, according to prominent network expert Natalia Babasyan, the old Vesti was closed for this article just a couple of months after its publication. A prominent expert, by the way, appears on the editorial lists, which complements our ideas... oh, no, not so much about the quality, but about the methods of journalism with which “Grani” is going to delight us. This same fact allows an anonymous analyst from SMI.ru to conclude that there is a niche similar to Deadline (where a prominent expert also works) and an upcoming battle for minds. The anonymous analyst also identified (by ear) Sergei Varshavchik as the author of the panegyric news about the opening of “Grani” at Deadline. Well, we, perhaps, identified the anonymous analyst by his claws. It seems that he recently took RJ readers around Moscow, which is different from the real one.
It’s just a pity that the example of “Deadline” shows that this type of journalism is not in great demand online. But we still wish our colleagues success; Moreover, the highest professionalism of some (at least two, not mentioned above) of them is beyond doubt.
"Fringes" is not the only discovery of the week. "Polit.Ru" pleased with "Antilenta" . The creators, who wished to remain anonymous for now (especially since they are well known and what else do they need), dismissing our malicious questions about the upcoming war with Lenta and Nosik’s possible anger, stated that they are not opposing Lenta, but the news feed "Polit.Ru", in connection with which they are also called "Ur.Tilop". And Nosik, according to some reports, is generally pleased with what is happening.
In addition, it was possible to obtain first-hand information about the causes of the incident. The reasons are described as follows: firstly, it’s interesting. Secondly, the regular reader (all the creators are regular readers, and also writers) of online publications is tired of the style of news feeds. The tapes need parodying. This, in fact, distinguishes “Ur.Tilop” from “Noodles.Ru”, where the focus is on the material, here on style and material at the same time.
Ah, philologists. Ah, the romantic times when “interesting” was considered a necessary and sufficient reason to create a website. Now we need to at least build a civil society. By the way, isn’t what has been said enough to, again, hit the claws?
For whom?
But have you ever wondered for whom everything that happens on the Internet is happening: parodies are written, civil society is created, shining windows of online stores are opened, and so on, so on, so on?
I hasten to please. Soon you won't have to think about it. The first stage of the unprecedented project “Internet in Russia / Russia on the Internet,” which Strana.Ru reported on the day of its opening, has been successfully completed. Based on the research, a report was written, from which everyone on the specialized website internet.strana.ru will learn everything that can be learned about Russian Internet users.
Let's say how many there are (you, us). The answer received is much more modest than the common figures - a little more than three million, and not twelve, as some have counted.
And how many, for example, have had the opportunity to make purchases in online stores over the past month? And I won’t name the number at all - it’s funny. This is all about the investment boom and brilliant prospects that many still dream of. I wonder whether the long-term and massive purchase of Levi's jeans at the Luzhniki market should be considered an investment boom for the Chinese light industry? I'm afraid we're dealing with something similar here too.
And so on, there’s a lot of interesting stuff there, and perhaps it’s worth returning to this later and talking in more detail.
The site will open on December 19th, they say. It will use something called (for now) a permanent Internet sample - in other words, for the first time in Russian history, online surveys will be conducted, the data of which can be considered sociologically reliable. In addition, and this is also the first time, it was decided to distribute the report on the results of the first study freely. I think all interested parties should pay attention to this. Especially for investors. The money will be safer in future.
Note
But, to end on a bravura note, I’m sharing a find: an article about Sakharov on Strana.Ru . Ah, Mr. Jourdain, not everything is prose and not poetry. This is, for example, a song. Performed standing, to the music of Alexandrov. It is advisable to have a concentrated face. With a choir of one hundred and fifty people, you can even, as some probably remember, not sing. Just open your mouth.
