The mayor awarded for loyalty
Yesterday in the White Hall of the City Hall, Yuri Luzhkov presented his own awards for achievements in the field of journalism. 15 laureates received not only diplomas, but also $450 on Bank of Moscow plastic cards.

The ceremony was opened by the mayor himself. He said that the media is “a mirror of the life of the city,” and said that the Moscow authorities highly value journalistic criticism and do not blame the mirror. This is probably why the prize was awarded to Marina Bochinina and Andrei Leonov from the television company "TV Center", Vera Kotsyuba from the television company "TV Stolitsa", Ilmira Malikova from the radio station "Moscow Speaks", Tatyana Garmize from the newspaper "Moskovskaya Pravda" and Andrei Polunin from the newspaper " Evening Moscow". All these media are widely known in Moscow for the quality of their mirror image of the activities of the Moscow government and its leader personally.
The heads of the popular publications “Moscow Industrial Newspaper” and “October Field and the Whole North-West” also received awards.
Among the laureates were such well-known journalists as Anatoly Rubinov (for many years of fruitful work in journalism) and Nikolai Dolgopolov (for personal creative participation in organizing the release of the insert “Moscow and Muscovites” in the Trud newspaper). Mr. Dolgopolov immediately announced that he was donating his $450 to an orphanage in the village of Uvarovka.
And the only crime reporter among those awarded was Alexander Lebedev from Interfax.
