There was a battle in Gudermes for 8 hours

Today in Gudermes for eight hours, a shootout did not subside between Chechen separatists and local riot police. This was reported in the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Chechnya.

Around 11:00 from the first city hospital, fire was opened by police officers, ITAR-TASS reports. A fighter of the OMON Ministry of Internal Affairs Rakhman Shaipov was killed in a shootout.

Almost simultaneously with the start of a shootout, a landmine exploded in one of the local cafes. Several civilians were injured. At the same time, the 706th checkpoint in the Gudermes area was fired unknown. Two fighters of checkpoints were injured.

The battle with the terrorists near the city hospital ended at about 18:00, when the terrorists, taking advantage of the onset of darkness, disappeared. Data on losses among militants are specified.
