Prince William went to Africa

Prince William has begun a tour of African countries, British newspapers write today. The purpose of his trip was to participate in a safari and study the environment. "For three and a half months, the 18-year-old prince, along with a group of adventurers, is enjoying himself before starting his studies at Scotland's St. Andrews University, which begins in September," the newspapers note. "We are not disclosing where he is now or where he will be moving," a spokeswoman for St. James's Palace told the Express newspaper today.

British journalists suggest that William may follow in the footsteps of his father, Prince Charles, who has already visited the Kalahari Desert in Botswana. Then for four days he walked through the desert with his godfather's wagon.

Prince William's trip will be his second adventure since graduating from college last summer. At the end of last year, he spent 10 weeks in one of the remote areas of Chile as part of a scientific expedition. As the British press wrote at the time, William had worked for a month on a dairy farm in southwest England, earning seven dollars an hour, to raise extra money for the trip. At the same time, the tabloid press wrote that the prince performed one of the dirtiest jobs on the farm.
