British singer Sting will give his first concert in Jordan on April 22, AFP reports. The organizers of this event expect to gather about 5 thousand spectators. The guest of honor at the concert will be the Algerian singer Cheb Mani - together with Sting they will sing the polar song "Rose in the Desert". The concert will take place at a private university in Amman. Proceeds from it will be donated to charity.
As the concert organizers told AFP in an interview, Sting also wanted to give a concert in one of the cities of Palestine, but he was dissuaded from doing so for security reasons.
Amman will be the second city to host a concert by the famous pop singer during his Middle East tour. The tour will begin in Dubai on April 19-20. The program also includes a concert in Egypt on April 25, which is planned to be held at the base of one of the pyramids.
