Evgeny Kiselev intends to offer NTV journalists a number of new initiatives on Saturday. “I will talk about them at the general meeting of NTV journalists,” Yevgeny Kiselev told reporters upon arrival from Spain to Moscow at Sheremetyevo airport. According to him, the general meeting of journalists of the NTV television company is scheduled for 19:00 Moscow time in Ostankino, Ekho Moskvy reports with reference to Interfax.
Evgeny Kiselev did not specify his proposals. He shared his reaction to what was happening on the TV channel: “Today they destroyed our common home - NTV, which we created with love. Well, this happens, and strong people have to go through it. I’m ready to go through it, I know how to do it , I'm ready to build a new house."
According to Evgeny Kiselev, the whole situation around NTV has “political and human aspects.” Speaking about the political aspect of the situation, Kiselyov expressed the opinion that “the authorities have shown that they are not strong, but arrogant.” He also noted that there were a lot of “lessons” in the development of the situation around NTV. “In particular, it became clear that the authorities could ignore the opinions of tens of thousands of people who spoke out in defense of NTV in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities,” said Evgeny Kiselev.
NTV General Director Evgeny Kiselev, who was removed from his post by the television company's board of directors on April 3, does not intend to appear in his office in Ostankino on Saturday. As his wife Maria Shakhova reported, Kiselev will arrive today at the editorial office of the TNT channel, where NTV employees who disagree with the change of leadership have now gathered.
When asked if he is ready to meet with Boris Jordan , Evgeny Kiselev noted that he is “not sure” that they “have a topic for conversation.”
In turn, NTV General Director Boris Jordan, who was elected to this position at the same meeting of the board of directors, told reporters that, according to his information, Evgeny Kiselev intends to go on air with the “Itogi” program on TV-6 channel. Judging by the words of Boris Jordan, this was the decision of Evgeny Kiselev himself. At the same time, the new general director added that he would like to discuss this issue personally with the presenter of Itogi.
Earlier, AFP reported that Yevgeny Kiselev’s program “Itogi” will no longer air on NTV. The agency, which calls Itogi “the most influential and critical talk show in Russia”, reported that Vladimir Kulistikov , who was appointed editor-in-chief of NTV on April 3 at the initiative of Gazprom-Media, decided to take the program off the air.
Meanwhile, it became known that Boris Jordan is now working in Evgeniy Kiselev’s office in Ostankino. At the same time, as NTV employees reported on Saturday afternoon, the same signs still hang on the doors of the reception of Evgeniy Kiselyov and former editor-in-chief Grigory Krichevsky. Early in the morning, some of the television company's journalists moved from the previous editorial office to the building opposite where TNT headquarters is located.
