Hannibal (premiere) . One of the main events in the world pop-kino. Ridley Scott, who, thanks to the “gladiator”, the main character of Oscar-2001 (although the director’s reward, thank God, did not receive), and once made very good films-from the basics of the Sins-Fixes “Running Blade” and “Alien” to the feminist “Telma and Louise”, put the sequel of the “Lumber”, one of the Few thrillers perceived by critics seriously. Dr. Hannibal Lecter continues to eat people, and Clarissa Stanling's agent enters into a fight (still hopeless) with evil. Julianna Moore and Anthony Hopkins are at least promising, although many moviegoers believe that after Hopkins, Hopkins did not have a single worthy acting work.

Save Grace! (premiere) . English comedy in English phlegmatic-ironic spirit, deserved a prize of spectator sympathies on the last Sandens. In the title role, the titled elderly lady of Brend Bletin ("Voice", "Secrets and Lies"). The plot is the story of a lady who, after her husband’s death, remained in poverty and decided to grow marijuana in her garden. Since we have a comedy, the Grace project finds support from her friends - the village old women and a local priest - and the planned happy ending is waiting for the viewer.

Requiem for a dream (premiere) . The decision to release such a film in a wide rental is a brave solution. The second picture of the talented director from the latest generation of American independent (directorial prize for Pi in Sandens) Darren Aronofsky does not apply to art house only insofar as her pathos, ultimately, is quite journalistic and does not contradict the official state pathos. Simply put, "no drugs." Otherwise, this is a virtuoso sample of claustrophobic depressive cinema, built on transparent and to tears of beautiful symbols, erecting the idea of the drug to the highest principle of life of the layman. Installation and especially the music (the performance of Kronos-Quartet) is above all praise, the acting work Ellen Berstin ("Exit to the Devil", "Alice does not live here") is not truely good. Lost souls. Not the worst example of the directorial work of the famous Hollywood operator (we also saw it). The permanent operator of Spielberg Yanush Kaminsky paid tribute to his beloved horror stories of twenty to three years ago: from “Omen” and “Expulsing the Devil” to “Rosemary’s child”. They say that the exorcism procedure here is shown most realistic. The most strange in the film is that it was shot without the slightest irony, absolutely seriously. And in fact, once the mystic was shot in this way, but in 2001 it was drowned differently. Winona Ryder in his repertoire - blinks with frightened eyes in half a face, bravely fights with unclean. Here is another of the few advantages: whether the heroine of the Antichrist stabbed in the finale or simply duddy poor fellow, the viewer does not recognize.

Princess and warrior . A new picture of the best German director of the nineties of the pumpkin, the author of the “winter hibernation” and “Run, Lola, Run”. In the title role, the same actress, Passion of pumpkin - Frank Potata (no longer red-, but pale -haired). The film "Objectively" is less successful, but much more serious, deep and thin; The mood is far from the dynamic "lula" and closer to the meditative "hibernation", in the tradition of Herzog and Wenders. Billy Elliot . By general confession, the best British film of the year. Nothing intellectual is an absolutely human breakthrough in the spirit of "male striptease", although in a different genre (melodrama instead of a comedy). The fantastic acting of thirteen -year -old Jamie Bell, who played a boy from a mining family who wants to become a ballet dancer. The plot is absolutely predictable, a lot of banalities (for example, Billy dances mainly under the "Swan Lake"), but all the disadvantages recede before the nosa of intonation, which has already been forgotten about in modern cinema. Big Kush . The new work of one of the most fashionable English directors of recent years is the director of the film "Cards, Money, two trunks" , and in combination - the husband of Madonna, Guy Ritchi. The picture tells about the adventures of several scams, who were played not only by the heroes of the previous film, but also such promoted stars from behind the ocean as Brad Pitt ("Seven", "Fight Club") and Benisio Del Toro ("Fear and Hatred in Las Vegas", "Traffik"). The pursuit of a giant diamond in the surroundings of battles without rules. All techniques of modern cinema are collected here together, the result: ideal (albeit extremely non -self -state) form, zero content. Humor of extremely low level, sometimes no better than “stupid and dumber”, which the viewer is not noticed behind the cascade of clip installation, endless rapids and fashion music. With music, however, too ... Russian appears - a balalaika sounds, a black man - a trip -hop, a Jew √ "Hawa Nagila" ... In the center is a national idea: like, simple English guys are actually cooler than cunning Jews, Russians, gypsies and blacks. This Guy Ritchi thinks that he is the coolest. But for the steepness of marriage to Madonna, there is still little. Moreover, the Madonna is an absolute record holder for the Golden Malin. There is something to think about.

The enemy at the gate (premiere) . The film, as if deliberately created for criticism from any possible sides. Firstly, the most expensive European project in history (the occasion be sure to indicate - "Found what to spend money on"). Secondly, the film about Stalingrad (“They understand a lot!”), Thirdly, according to Hollywood plot standards, in the fourth - all the authors of the film, from the director Jean -Jacques Anno and to the actors of Joseph Faines and Juda Low were inspired by the “life and fate” of Grossman. But the film, in spite of critics, is good, and even very much. No cloth pathos in Spielberg’s style, an adventurous romantic movie with a charismatic hero and no less charismatic villain (handsome Jude Low is a typical Soviet sniper who believes in the triumph of good; the blue -eyed magnetizer Ed Harris is a purely Baltic Sessovets of Soviet old films), excellent scenery and quite quality scenario.
