From May 1, the average pension benefit will be 1 thousand 13 rubles.
According to RIA Novosti, the Decree on increasing pensions was signed on April 17 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The presidential decree will affect 18 million pensioners. In accordance with it, the ratio of the average salary of a pensioner and the average salary in the country will be increased, used when calculating the pension using the individual coefficient of the pensioner.
The increase will affect only those pensioners whose wages were underestimated when assigning a pension. On average, the increase will be about 100 rubles. In accordance with this decree, the maximum pension amount will be 1,500 rubles.
On May 1, changes to the Law on State Pensions will also come into force, which will lead to an increase in pensions for a number of categories of pensioners.
The changes were signed on April 16 by the President of Russia. These categories include disabled people and participants in the Great Patriotic War, parents of fallen servicemen, including in “hot spots,” widows who did not marry after losing their breadwinner, and residents of besieged Leningrad. Taking into account the increase, the maximum pension for these categories will be 2 thousand 300 rubles.
Currently there are 38 million pensioners in Russia.
