Moscow police have identified the attacker who threw two bottles of black liquid into the Latvian Embassy building this morning. As reported by the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, this is 20-year-old mechanic of Ural OJSC Alexey Gushansky. The hooligan was detained by embassy security officers and handed over to officers of the 46th police station.

According to updated data, at about 6 o'clock in the morning he threw two bottles with a black oily liquid - according to some sources it was paint, according to others - machine oil - at the facade of the Latvian Embassy, ​​located in house No. 3 on Chaplygina Street. The liquid spread across the wall of the building's facade in a four-meter spot. According to police officers, the reason for the incident was that the day before Alexei Gushansky saw on TV a story about how members of the radical National Bolshevik Party of Eduard Limonov were convicted in Latvia. Allegedly, as a sign of protest against such a decision of the Latvian court and the condemnation of the Russian National Bolsheviks, A. Gushansky threw bottles of liquid from the Latvian embassy.

Latvian officials have not yet commented on the incident. However, according to the BNS agency, in connection with the incident, the Latvian Embassy is preparing a note to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On April 30, in Riga, a verdict was announced against four National Bolsheviks, three Russians and one Latvian resident who participated in the action on November 17 last year - the seizure of the observation deck of one of the Riga churches. The Riga District Court sentenced Russians Maxim Zhurkin and Sergei Solovy to 15 years in prison, their compatriot Dmitry Gafarov to 5 years, and the Latvian Limonovite Vladimir Moskovtsev to a year's probation.
