Today, the International Space Station has lost management and began to drift in space, reports Reuters.
The cause of the accident was a failure in the software of a computer, which controls the four heroes that support the station in a stable state. It is reported that on the eve of this computer new software was installed, after which there was a failure.
The crew was forced to urgently launch engines of Discovery, attached to the station of the Discovery ship in order to balance the ISS.
The astronauts have not yet been able to identify the cause of the problem and eliminate it, but in NASA they are sure that this will soon be able to do: according to assumptions, the failure is not critical.
The commander of the new permanent crew of the ISS, American Mark Ferring suggested that the problem arose due to the fault of the Russian side: at the time of failure, the on -board computer loaded the data “synchronously” with a computer in Russian Tsup, Reuters reports.
According to the agency, the ISS crew could switch Herodine Management to another, not related to Russian ground -based machines, a computer located in the American segment of the station, but it was decided to wait until the station flew over the territory of Russia, so that during this time Moscow specialists tested their equipment. At the time of elimination of the accident, the normal position of the station continues to ensure the shuttle of Discovery.
