Russian citizen Viktor Bychk, stolen on September 27 in the Columbia Department of Will, apparently is in the hands of the local group "The Revolutionary Army of the Liberation of Colombia". This was reported to "Interfax" diplomatic sources.
According to them, contacts with the abductors have already been established, they have not yet put forward any preliminary conditions for the release of a Russian citizen. Sources emphasized that the Russian Embassy in Bogota, together with the law enforcement agencies of Colombia, take all the necessary measures and use all available channels in order to achieve the unconditional liberation of the bull.
This is not the first case of the abduction of our compatriots in Colombia. At the beginning of the year, a Russian and Litovets were captured in the same area. They were released after about two weeks, the sources recalled.
Viktor Bychk arrived in Colombia under a contract with a private company, not registering at the Russian consulate. As a result, that he was in Colombia, the Russian Embassy knew nothing until local media reported his abduction. “Unfortunately, there are not few of them among our citizens,” the sources noted.
