Alfred Koch became a builder

The former head of Gazprom-Media, Alfred Koch, leaving the media business, is busy implementing a large commercial project-the construction of a seaport in Ust-Luga (Leningrad Region), he himself announced this in an interview with Izvestia newspaper. As Koch admitted, after the story with NTV, he “lay down on the bottom, like a submarine,” and having retired to the “swamps and forests”, began to implement the seaport project.

The builders of the port in Ust-Luga promise that within 3-4 years from the date of operation the port will process 20 million tons of bulk cargo. Thus, they note, the project will be able to satisfy the needs of cargo owners of the North-West of Russia by 60-70%. According to Koch, the port will be serious competition for the Baltic states, where there is a transshipment of similar cargo, as well as Finland, since the Ust-Luga port is 500 km closer to the center of Russia.
