| Electricity companies are reviewing their business plans for next year. The Board of Directors of Irkutskenergo calculated financial and economic indicators based on the tariffs approved by the Regional Energy Commission for the company. According to the press service of Irkutskenergo, in this case the company’s budget deficit is expected to be 750 million rubles. If electric energy brings a profit, then thermal energy will result in a loss of 5 billion rubles, and the government’s instructions to eliminate cross-subsidies will not be implemented. If tariffs are increased by 35%, as the Cabinet of Ministers plans, and REC duplicates their growth in the region, then, according to Irkutskenergo Director for Media Relations Alexander Ptashkin, the company will end next year “with good profitability.” As a summary, the directors of Irkutskenergo recommended that the executive body continue consultations with the Regional Energy Commission and re-submit the issue for consideration at the end of January.
The board of RAO UES of Russia made a similar decision regarding its business plan. True, the energy holding refused to report any indicators, since “it is not clear when and in what proportions the tariffs will increase, as well as what the investment component in the subscription fee will be (it is transferred to RAO by its subsidiaries for the development of the grid economy. - Ed. ),” said the head of the press service, Yuri Melikhov.
