The first kia Sportage jeeps are collected in Kaliningrad

The first SUV KIA Sportage model has left the assembly line of the Avtotor Kaliningrad Automobile Automobile Plant today. The director of automobile production "Autotor" Vladimir Kalinnikov notes that this is the first "in the full sense of the word domestic car": the body is cooked and painted directly at the factory, and not in Korea, as it was before.

The company in Kaliningrad is the only one in Russia that received the License of the Korean company KIA for the right to release this model, ITAR -TASS notes. This year, according to Kalinnikov, about 1200 Sportage will come from the assembly line, the capacities of production are designed to produce 10,000 cars a year.

The release of Sportage in Kaliningrad is one of the first results of the outlined tendency to organize the production of foreign cars in Russia.
