The American company Hop -On Communications, which is based in California, intends to release a new product - disposable mobile phones in March to the consumer market.

According to the company representative, the novelty will be sold at a price of $ 30, and its buyers will automatically get the opportunity to make calls within the United States and say 60 minutes. When the paid minutes are “pronounced”, the phone is thrown into the first urn that fall. True, you can do it differently: return the manufacturer that has become an unnecessary toy and get a discount of $ 5 for the purchase of a new "one -time" phone.

The mobile device will not be equipped with the set buttons - the one will have to call the operator the number of the phone he needs. The device will also not be able to accept incoming calls. After the expiration of the phone’s work, the owner simply throws it away and buys a new one.

The second model of the HOP-On Communications mobile phone, which will also go on sale in March of this year, provides for the possibility of "monetary recharging", i.e. After 60 conversational minutes, the owner of the device can buy additional minutes from the company.

Experts predict new products of the California company, a bright future. Consumer surveys regularly conducted in the United States indicate that from a third to half of their participants they acquire mobile phones only to use them in unforeseen circumstances, for example, in road accidents and accidents. It is at this segment of the market that the disposable mobile phones of the Hop-On Communications are aimed. Do not forget about those who come to the country from Europe or Asia: their two-band GSM pipe in the United States do not work.

In the next year, the company hopes to win its market share and abroad - either through international partnership, or thanks to the licensing of its technology.

Meanwhile, after September 11, some representatives of the American government criticized plans for issuing such phones, saying that they could potentially pose a threat to security. So, the Federal Minister of Justice John Ashcroft suggested that the availability of cheap and also anonymous phone will facilitate the task of communicating with each other.

However, the techno from HOP-O and third-party experts rejected these fears, saying that today you can safely buy special anonymous cards and use them in automats.
