| 55-year-old Vladimir Kalitin, who has held the position of chief engineer of the company for the last six years, was elected president of the diamond mining company ALROSA. This decision on Friday, upon the proposal of the former head of the company and current president of Yakutia Vyacheslav Shtyrov, was unanimously made by members of the company's supervisory board. According to the ALROSA press service, the company has planned a slight reduction in diamond production this year. One of the reasons is the general decline in the global rough and polished diamond market. The volume of mining work will be increased - this will speed up the construction of the International, Mir, Aikhal and Udachny mines. Allocations for geological exploration will amount to 1.16 billion rubles, and for science - 268 million rubles. "TIME FOR NEWS"
