The French lawyer Nadia Weler-Strasser announced today that she intends to ask for a “political asylum” abroad for a dog, which should be killed at the request of the prefect of the city of Sarbur (east of France).

According to the lawyer, animals have the right to respect, like their two -legged "friends", in accordance with the International Charter of Animal Rights ratified in France. Veiler-Strasser believes that this document allows the prefecture to make a decision on the "expulsion" of a dog, which as a result will be able to get asylum in one of the countries "with less strict legislation."
