As Mikhail Kasyanov said on Friday, the supply of “Bush’s legs” to Russia can resume in early April . He also said that in the final stage there were negotiations with the White House regarding the mitigation of the conditions for access to its market of Russian steel.
And if there is no doubt about the resumption of the export of the “legs of Bush” to Russia, then the outcome of the negotiations on imports into the states of our steel is in doubt. According to "News Time", Russia and the USA will soon sign documents that mitigate the consequences of American restrictions on the import of Russian steel. According to the Russian prime minister, this will not mean a complete settlement of the problem, but it will soften a number of positions, in particular, in the export of steel wire.
The Vedomosti, however, notes that the compromise, which Mikhail Kasyanov agreed on, will allow the Americans to catch up the missed benefit faster. The newspaper with reference to the representative of the Ministry of Economic Development involved in the "steel" problem, reports that no extraordinary exceptions to Russia will be made. Russians will simply allow us to submit applications for the withdrawal of certain types of products from sanctions. This is a standard procedure that our country could use it within 120 days after the announcement of protective measures. At the same time, obviously, the Americans will be ready to soften the restrictions only on the import of those types of products that do not compete with local products. And the most unpleasant measure for Russians - the duty of 30% for cold and hot rental - will not be canceled. And you won’t earn much on wire and slabs . For example, slaves in the United States can export 1.2 million tons - 200 thousand tons more than before. At the same time, a ton of Llyovs stands on the American market a little more than $ 100. And the steel wire, according to which, as Kasyanov said, is also possible, is exported to the USA in such insignificant volumes that it is not even recorded in the statistics of trade between the two countries.
