The chairman of the Moscow City Duma Vladimir Platonov, on the air of the Echo of Moskvy radio station, said that by May 9, veterans of the capital would receive "tangible assistance" by the capital's authorities.

In addition, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the districts and regions of the city, many events will be held to celebrate and congratulate veterans, ”Platonov said.

The chairman of the Moscow City Duma admitted that the allowance of 150 rubles is more likely “a sign of attention” than the real material support of veterans. At the same time, according to him, only such a manual allows the budget of Moscow, which was significantly reduced in connection with a change in federal legislation.

In turn, the deputy chairman of the Union of Participants in the Victory Parade of 1945, the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Alexei Stefanov on the air of the radio station said that one -time material assistance in the amount of 150 rubles, which the capital’s authorities will pay each Moscow veteran by May 9, "this is just a handout."

He emphasized that this amount is not enough even to "go to the store" normally, "" unless it will be possible to buy three flowers to your wife. " At the same time, according to Stefanov, "as a gesture of attention, as a tribute to the veterans, it is advisable to accept this money." The veteran noted that, according to his information, the city budget really does not have enough funds to provide more significant assistance to participants in the Great Patriotic War.

Stefanov expressed a wish that the Moscow authorities, first of all, provided targeted assistance to every veteran, especially disabled people.

"Sometimes mass assistance is allocated in a large sum, and in fact, even those who equated to the participants in the war, but did not actually get it," emphasized the deputy chairman of the Union of Participants in the 1945 Victory Parade.
