| You can't intimidate the Spartak coach with a bottle The 11th round of the Russian Championship among Premier League teams contained plenty of events. In addition to the first defeat in the championship of the leader, Lokomotiv, two meetings with the participation of the Moscow teams CSKA and Spartak were marked by refereeing scandals.
Leader. Lokomotiv Moscow, which was in first place in the standings before the eighth round of the championship and had a four-point advantage over chasing CSKA, suffered its first defeat in the current championship. The railway workers lost to the local Krylia Sovetov in Samara - 0:1, and the only goal in this match was scored by the hosts' captain Vladislav Radimov. This football player is showing a good level of football this season, thereby confirming the advances that were given to him at the age of 18, when Radimov was already shining in CSKA and the Russian national team. And although during his year at the Samara club after failures in Zaragoza, Dynamo and Levski, the Krylia Sovetov midfielder scored only two goals, both of which he sent into the railway workers’ goal. After the match, assessing the actions of the author of the only goal scored, Krylia Sovetov head coach Alexander Tarkhanov noted: “Radimov showed himself to be a real leader. He worked not only in attack, but also in defense. This player means a lot for the Wings, and even despite the performance he showed, he can still improve, I’m convinced of that.”
Scandal. CSKA took advantage of Lokomotiv's misfire and reduced the gap to Yuri Semin's team to one point. True, Valery Gazzaev’s team, according to the “black and white” coach Vitaly Shevchenko, did this with the help of referee Valentin Ivanov, who refereed the Torpedo - CSKA match, which ended with a score of 2:3 in favor of the army team. Immediately after the end of this meeting, the home team filed a protest, the grounds for which were the following episodes: an offside position, from which Semak scored the second goal into the Torpedo goal, the absence of a violation of the rules by the home goalkeeper Borodin after a duel with Gusev, after which a penalty kick was awarded, and, finally, a foul against Leonchenko in the visitors’ penalty area that was not noticed by the referee. “In this match the refereeing was biased and clearly in favor of CSKA,” said Vitaly Shevchenko, assessing the game. “Who benefits from this and why—guess for yourself.” In turn, the army coach Valery Gazzaev, unlike his coaching colleague, was pleased with what was happening on the field: “Ivanov is an international class referee. It allows players to fight on the field, increasing the entertainment of the match. God grant that we are judged just as well in the remaining games.”
Curious. The match “Saturn - Ren TV” - “Spartak”, which took place in Ramenskoye near Moscow and ended in a 1:2 victory for the guests, was also not without a scandal. And again the center of attention was the referee - Yuri Klyuchnikov, who awarded a penalty against the Moscow region club three minutes before the final whistle. The reason for such a bold decision was a far from indisputable violation of the rules against the Muscovite captain Yegor Titov, known for his ability to fall in someone else's penalty area at the right moment. He fell for the trick of Spartak and Klyuchnikov, after which Beschastnykh calmly converted the chance presented to him, bringing his team three points. However, another incident happened at the end of the match. The head coach of “Spartak” Oleg Romantsev, outraged by the dissatisfaction with the refereeing of the head coach of “Saturn” Vladimir Shevchuk, expressed several unflattering words to him and... received an answer from the fans of the Moscow region club: a plastic bottle of water hit the head of the “Spartak” coach. However, it was this incident that forced Romantsev to come to the post-match conference, where he stated the following: “Recently, a bad situation has developed around Spartak. And today I came to a meeting with journalists on principle - let those who hit me with a bottle know that they did not scare me. At the same time, I note that I did a lot for Saturn in my time, in particular, when I allowed this club to acquire a group of its former players for literally nothing. And earlier I was worried about the team near Moscow, closely following its performances. Now for some reason I won’t “root” for her. To be honest, I also do not understand the behavior of the opposing head coach, who grabbed the referee by the chest and shouted obscenities at him. I believe that in the future such coaches will die out... I will do everything possible so that Saturn plays as many games as possible outside its stadium.”
