The personal archive of Basayeva was found in Chechnya

In the Vedensky district of Chechnya near the village, Vedeno Vedeno detachment of the federal forces discovered the personal archive of the terrorist Shamil Basayev on the eve in the cache. In the cache there was also weapons and ammunition.

Basayev’s foreign passports, personal photographs of the field commander, computer disks and discs, various documents were at the disposal of the military.

According to reporters, the commander of the united group of troops in the North Caucasus, Colonel General Vladimir Lalters, the found archive "is of great value for the military." This will allow "conducting more specific work on neutralization and detention of the leaders of gangs and field commanders," the commander noted.

According to him, the captured archive will help eliminate "militants who provide federal forces resistance."
