The Russian submarine was flooded as a result of the explosion of several torpedoes, which, in turn, was caused by a torpedo fuel explosion. This is the conclusion of the report of the Commission for the Investigation of the Causes of the Kursk disaster, which was semi-grouped by her member Vice Admiral Valery Dorogin. The report with the results of the investigation will continue to remain a “strictly secret” document.

"A kind of combat damage"

Valery Dorogin said that the ammunition of the torpedo on board Kursk could not explode on its own, since the torpedoes were without fuses. But a huge increase in temperature and pressure after the first explosion then made the catastrophe inevitable. But what was caused by this first explosion - on this occasion, no one has yet expressed an official point of view, except for the representatives of the Navy, which immediately after the disaster distributed the adventure versions about the mines left after the world war and the mysterious NATO submarines. These versions are now completely disappearing. The version was common that there was a defect on the torpedo, as a result of which the fuel leaked, which, after the mysterious attempts of the crew, to put it out, finally exploded spontaneously.

The source of this version is various experts of the Navy and retired officers. The media fell upon her, accusing them of trying to find an explanation of the disaster that shocked Russia. But neither the chairman of the commission Ilya Klebanov, nor the Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov or the chief designer of Kursk, Igor Spassky, opposed this version. Igor Spassky in one of his interviews fogically said that Kursk was sunk as a result, “a kind of combat damage”. Thus, in his ideas, he was close to the conclusions of the secret report of the FSB Putin, in which in the fall of 2000 it was said that the Petr the Great Nuclear cruiser fired with anti -submarine missiles and hit the area where they later found Kursk. The FSB report was refuted by the fleet command, but really no one rejected his conclusions with the arguments in his hands. To the depths of the soul, the wounded Admiral Vyacheslav Popov, who at the time of the disaster was the commander of the Northern Fleet, said some time after that he would like to "look into the eyes of who organized it."

Last fall, Putin fired the entire command of the Northern Fleet in connection with "with rude mistakes made in the planning of the exercises, as well as during rescue work." In early June, Popov, who, meanwhile, became a representative of the Murmansk region in the upper house of parliament, said that he did not want to talk about the reasons for the disaster with Kursk. “It hurts too much. We cannot tell the whole truth. ” The Prosecutor General’s Office and the investigation commission were put on a certain framework during the investigation. At the final stage of the investigation, the fleet command in a long black list itself determined what data and information could be the subject of further investigation, and which should be considered secret to such an extent that they became taboo even for prosecutors. Even the already emasculated final report of the investigation commission will preserve the secrecy vulture and will not be available to the public.

Fire in the bow of the boat

The office of the chairman of the commission Ilya Klebanov refused to answer the request to comment on the words of Vice Admiral Dorogin, because, they say, in this case we are not talking about an official position, but only about the private opinion of the admiral. Dorogin himself, in fact, left the explanation of the causes of the disaster, but outlined the picture in detail after the first explosion. After the explosion of the torpedo in the bow of the boat, a fire began. First, the sailors were killed in the first compartment, the rest were poisoned by gas. Two minutes later, the rest of the torpedoes exploded as a result of a fire and explosive waves. This explosion from the housing was torn off the bow of the boat.
