Children will be treated by Viagra

The famous medicine for impotence can be a very effective tool for combating pulmonary hypertension, both in adults and in children.

For several years, the medicine has been used in especially severe cases of hypertension, but the experience of Indian Dr. Raji, who used Viagra, is even more important to save three newborns who were at risk of death.

Now several hospitals, together with Pfizer, are conducting clinical testing of the medicine. In particular, in the London Royal Brompton Hospital, five children were treated with Viagra and all of them "demonstrated a significant improvement in" their physical condition.

As practice has shown, intravenous administration of the medicine is much more effective than often used now and an expensive method of forced ventilation of the lungs of nitrogen, Membrana.ru reports.

Since the medicine was originally tested only on adults, during the current experiments, doctors will have to determine the effective dosage of the medicine for the child's body (especially for newborns, including the highest mortality from pulmonary hypertension), as well as solve some problems of a legal nature.
