The influx of repatriates in Israel has decreased

The influx of immigrants who arrived at a permanent place of residence in Israel decreased by 27 percent: 15 thousand people arrived in the country in the first half of 2002, while during the same period 2001 √ 20 thousand 500 people.

As Reuters reports, according to the Central Bureau of Israel's statistics, the share of immigrants from the former Soviet republics was especially reduced. If in the first half of 2001 repatriates from the countries of the former USSR were about 75 percent of the total, then in 2002 their share was reduced to 56 percent.
