From the second quarter of 2003, new excise stamps for alcohol will be introduced in Russia. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Gordeev, this will allow a third to reduce the volume of illegal circulation of alcoholic beverages.
Gordeev said that "in the new excise stamps, the volume of the container in which alcohol is located will be indicated." This will make it possible to establish more rigid accounting and control over the turnover of alcoholic beverages.
Currently, the market has a lot of fake excise stamps that it is easy to make, the official is regretted. The share of fake alcoholic beverages in the Russian market, according to some estimates, reaches 40%.
Gordeev noted that the introduction of new excise stamps into alcohol products will not entail a rise in price, since the share of the cost of excise stamp in the cost of alcohol is insignificant.
