Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov actively joined the conflict around the Moscow oil refinery. He accused the Sibneft’s oil company of trying to capture the Moscow oil product market.

Currently, 135 different companies operate on the capital of the capital’s oil products, and Luzhkov said that he would not allow Abramovich to monopolize the market.

As the official representative of Sibneft, Alexei Firsov, said on the air of the Echo of Moscow radio station, "the thesis that the market is possible to capture someone is deprived of any point, because it is impossible to seize it in principle."

In his opinion, "Yuri Mikhailovich has not very correct information about the situation at the factory and on the fuel market in Moscow as a whole."

Firsov emphasized that "almost all the largest companies in Russia are present in the Moscow market, the market is very segmented, so none of the companies can become a monopolist - this is impossible technically." According to him, Sibneft is least interested in making the Moscow oil refinery to work inefficiently. "

However, Firsov said that "the management style that was practiced by the Moscow oil company was characterized by randomness and unsystematic management, as well as the participation of shareholders in management." And against this "Sibneft" is fighting. He emphasized that we are talking about the participation of shareholders in the management of the MNPZ and making appropriate changes to the charter, and not about the capture of the enterprise or control of it.
