Ninth-grader Kristina Kurbatova, an actress from the children's troupe of the musical Nord-Ost, died in the hospital. The girl had bronchitis. The gas attack proved fatal to her.

At the same time, the first information appeared in the Russian media that lysergic acid was used during the storming of the building of the Palace of Culture on Melnikova Street. An expert, a specialist in the field of toxic substances, told us about the effect of this substance on the human body. He asked not to be named.

The substance used can be classified as the strongest. So, lysergic acid diethylamide is nothing but the infamous drug LSD. Most likely, the drug was chosen because an extremely low concentration of lysergic acid is required to effectively affect a person. Its impact on the body is accompanied by a whole range of symptoms, such as respiratory failure, damage to higher nervous activity, loss of consciousness.

The degree of exposure to the drug depends primarily on the concentration of the substance in the atmosphere. It manifests itself in several stages of development: from superficial, almost imperceptible to extremely severe. The immediate degree of influence of the drug primarily depends on a variety of so-called "accompanying conditions." In general, the effect of this substance is based on two invariable parameters: the degree of acid concentration in the body and the state of the human immune and nervous systems. With two to three days of hunger and an excited state, the drug can have a different effect: from “mild” stress symptoms to death. In any case, the defeat of lysergic acid in the future will certainly affect the health of the victims.

When it became known that people who had been escorted out of the Palace of Culture continued to die from gas poisoning, we contacted one of the participants in the special operation to free the hostages. On condition of anonymity, he told us the following.

Neither the special forces soldiers, nor the employees of other services who entered the theater building after them were poisoned. Our source has no information about the condition of the fighters who destroyed the female terrorists in the theater and thus prevented the death of the hostages from kamikaze explosions, but says that they “did not hear any complaints.”

When asked whether the first fighters who entered the theater used gas masks or any other means of protection, the source refused to answer, saying: “I would not even want to discuss this detail with a journalist even anonymously. Let's pretend I don't know." At the same time, according to our interlocutor, "the people who entered the building 20 minutes after the assault did not have any gas masks and did not even hear anything about it."
