
The President of the Russian Academy of Arts, a well-known sculptor-monumentalist Zurab Tsereteli presented his personal exhibition on Friday to the court of journalists. The famous artist acted as a guide and conducted spectators along the halls of the art gallery on the Prechistenka, showing his old and new works, the correspondent of Interfax reported.
Among the new works are the bronze sculptures of the famous singer, State Duma deputy Joseph Kobzon, Nobel Prize Laureate Zhores Alferov, musician Yuri Bashmet and the wife of the Moscow Mayor, the chairman of the Russian Horse Sports Federation Elena Baturina. For the first time, the bronze self -portrait of Tsereteli, depicted surrounded by his works, was also presented to the public court.
The exhibition will last three months. In the exposition - hundreds of works by an artist of different years, many of his new works.
Among the new works by Zurab Tsereteli are a number of high reliefs that continue the vast series of "My Contemporaries" dedicated to the creators of Russian art of the 20th century. These are portraits of Yuri Bashmet, Vladimir Spivakov, George Danelia, other outstanding figures of domestic culture.
The exposition also has a series of bas -reliefs, which embodies numerous life impressions of the artist. The original author’s graphics are very interesting: drawings, watercolors, guans, works performed using silk -screen technology and among them especially - a large series of works on biblical themes. The previous personal exhibition of the artist took place in 1997.
As Tsereteli told reporters, he has a lot of offers, and, possibly, his picturesque, graphic and other work will go on a trip.
At the same time, the bronze hall "Cognition of Good and Evil" will remain as a constant exposition. The hall is about 30 bronze mountain reliefs in size five by five meters, which depict variations on the theme of the Old and New Testaments in the style of Georgian coinage, Byzantine art and ancient Russian painting.
“All art Moscow gathered to warm up in the rays of the energy of the venerable master,” Natalya Dementieva, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The ceremony was attended by many leaders of the capital's government, on behalf of which the first deputy mayor in the Moscow government, the head of the architectural and construction complex, Vladimir Resin, said a welcoming word.
A large delegation from Georgia arrived in Moscow at the opening of the exhibition to its countryman - after all, Cerethels the People’s Artist not only the USSR and the Russian Federation, but also the Georgian SSR. On this day, he received congratulations from the Art Academies of Spain, France, other countries and UNESCO.
“It is incredible that one person did all this,” said the legendary Russian cartoonist, 102 -year -old Boris Efimov. The "inexhaustible creative volcano" was called the ceremony of his colleague, the famous painter Tair Salakhov. There were many enthusiastic words, and, not everyone was pronounced in the microphone, ITAR-TASS reports.
The surprise of two sculptures was a surprise of the exhibition, and both of them captured the mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov. The first - represents Yuri Mikhailovich an athlete, and the second - a janitor (in his student years, Luzhkov earned a wiper for six years).
In another sculpture, the mayor of Moscow is depicted in the form of a football player who waves his foot to hit the ball, and in his hand he has a tennis racket. Another sculpture depicts the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Alexy the Second.
“The image of our mayor is very accurately captured, who is always in work and who is dealing with everything,” Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government, presented at the vernisage, shared her impression. Regarding the author of the exposition, she said that, in her opinion, "Zurab Tsereteli is a great artist and a very good person with an extraordinary breadth of soul."
