
Vote "not for the empty slogans of candidates, but for their practical affairs" in the upcoming December 22 elections of the President of the country and local authorities, the conference of Bishops of Lithuania today called on the believers, ITAR-TASS reports.
"It is not easy to evaluate what is hidden under the cover of beautiful slogans, the performances of the election campaign. Do not forget that the words of candidates promising to create a paradise on today's land are empty," the Hierarchs of the Roman -Catholic Church in Lithuania said.
17 politicians apply for the presidential chair in Lithuania, and more than 10 thousand candidates representing 26 political parties and coalitions in the municipal councils in municipal councils.
The Catholic Church in Lithuania has a great influence. More than 80% of the country's population are Catholics.
