On New Year's Eve in Moscow will get warmer

The New Year's gift seems to be going to present the weather to Muscovites. The metropolitan weather forecasters unveiled an updated forecast for the upcoming holidays.

According to the agency "Evening Moscow" in the metropolitan hydrometeorological unit, in the coming days, Muscovites will still be very freezing. Thermometers most likely will stubbornly demonstrate marks about minus 18 degrees.

However, the very holidays of the cold should weaken. Just on December 31st and January 1, the capital will be a little warmer: during the day, mercury columns will show minus 3-8, and on New Year's Eve - from minus 9 to minus 14.

The cloudy sky will give the city with small snow. But shortly after the onset of 2003, winter will most likely return lost positions, and will noticeably freeze the city.

By the way, Muscovites could walk along the embellished streets for the well -being, drinking champagne, about 20 years ago: on the night when 1980 was replaced by 1981, the temperature jumped above zero to the mark of +0.8.

But two years before, the townspeople survived the most frosty New Year: on the night of January 1, 1979, the thermometer columns fell to minus 32.9.
