The captain of the Moscow 'Lokomotiv' midfielder Dmitry Loskov is called the best football player in Russia in the past year. This follows from the results of the most prestigious survey, annually conducted by the popular weekly Football . In a survey of the leading football publication, according to tradition, since the Soviet era (then the weekly was called 'Football Hockey'), Russian journalists who write about football participate.
Their survey gave the next 'hot ten' of the best football players in Russia:
| 1. Dmitry Loskov ('Lokomotiv') | 527 points |
| 2. Sergey Ovchinnikov ('Lokomotiv') | 296 |
| 3. Sergey Semak (CSKA) | 144 |
| 4. Roland Gusev (CSKA) | 106 |
| 5. Dmitry Sychev (ex-`spartak ') | 78 |
| 6. Alexander Kerzhakov ('Zenit') | 75 |
| 7. Jacob Lekheto (South Africa, 'Lokomotiv') | 33 |
| 8. Evgeny Aldonin ('Rotor') | 28 |
| 9. Valery Karpin ('Real Sociedad', Spain) | 26 |
| 10. Andrey Karyaka ('Wings of Soviets') | 26 |
It is hardly worthwhile to be surprised at the appearance of the best Sychev in the top five, who did not so much play football as he fought for his rights with the leadership of the capital's 'Spartak'. Perhaps if Dmitry played the whole season in the same way that he spent the spring-summer matches for the 'red-white' and for the Russian national team, then he could claim a higher place. But the choice of domestic journalists, I think, is fair. Loskov not only became the champion of the country along with his club, he showed his best qualities of the team leader in the most responsible moments: at the finish of the Russian championship and in the decisive games of the first stage of the Champions League, RTR-Sport notes.
Note that a survey of journalists was conducted by the Football weekly for the 39th time. In this sense, its authority can be compared with a survey of the popular French edition of France Football , which has been determining the Golden Ball laureate for the best football player in Europe for more than four decades.
The leader and captain of the metropolitan Lokomotiv is recognized as the best football player of the year according to another traditional survey. For the 12th time, the popular daily newspaper Sport-Express defined the player of the year with the help of the players themselves. 165 players from 15 Russian clubs of the Premier League participated in the survey (the exception this year was composed by representatives of the Moscow Spartak, who, fulfilling the will of the club’s leadership, avoid contacts with the newspaper) and Dmitry Loskov was called the best football player in the Russian championship. At the same time, for the first time in the Sport -Express survey, the difference between the winner and its closest competitor turned out to be so significant - 268 points (Loskov had 402 points, and the second -club of his teammate Sergei Ovchinnikov - 134). Prior to this, the 2000 season was record, when the Spartakovets Yegor Titov was ahead of the current triumph of Loskov for 201 points (400 versus 199).
