In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a rabid dog bit 45 people

A rabid dog bit 45 people in the village of Mukhtolovo, Arlatorsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported on Friday in the State -Epid Service of the Russian Federation.

Among the victims are 17 children under the age of 14. In total, 21 people turned to the other bites for help, doctors identified the local residents during a survey. All victims were provided with first medical care and treatment with a special vaccine was prescribed.

The dog was caught by a special team. The animal in the laboratory confirms the diagnosis of rabies, ITAR-TASS reports.

Specialists of the State Veterinary Service of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Center for the State -Epidemiological Supervision in the Arlatorsky District hold a set of special events designed to prevent the spread of rabies among animals and hydrophobia in people.
