In Milan, 180 mesterous doctors were convicted

About 180 doctors were sentenced by the court of the Italian city of Milan to various terms of imprisonment for fraud.

These doctors of one of the private clinics received large commission for ordering their patients to take tests, which was not necessary, and only in this center.

In most cases, patients were not for doctors, but payment for this service was regularly transferred by the National Health Service to a private clinic.

In total, more than 32 thousand were discovered, for which the state paid almost 500 million euros, Interfax reports.

As Newsru.com previously reported, a list of doctors with a dubious reputation was published in the USA last summer. The list includes the names of doctors from the 12 states of the country, which were subjected to various disciplinary sanctions by medical councils.

Lists contain information about violations of professional discipline: a negligent attitude towards patients, incompetence, sexual harassment, issuing incorrect recipes and other serious violations over the past 10 years.
